Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Inspired by Gospel values, members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul join together to grow spiritually by offering assistance to the needy. We operate the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry which distributes food to those in need every Saturday morning. We also organize the "Giving Tree" at Christmas time, encouraging parishioners to buy toys for children of needy families. We also respond to phone calls from the rectory from those asking for assistance. Sometimes we respond directly and sometimes by referring them to other agencies that can assist them. About 36 members help in staffing the pantry on a rotating basis, and weekly shopping and picking up donated bread.
"Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, 'God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!' - if you don't give them the necessities for life?" (James 2:15-16)
Our Aim
We strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person services to individuals in need and are energized knowing that service to our brothers or sisters in need are encounters with Christ.

How We Serve
Food Pantry
More than 90 families helped each week with over 18,500 meals provided during the year. We are open 50 weeks a year on Saturday, 8:30-9am and on the fourth Saturday of the month from 12:30-2pm.
Giving Tree
Our Christmas toy drive and distribution is when parishioners select a toy to purchase from the Giving Tree. Those in need are invited to a special morning where they can select toys for their children.
Walk for the Poor
The entire community is invited to participate in this major fundraiser. The event is held at Bates Nut Farm and the funds raised help us to meet the needs in our community.
How You Can Help

Interested in Giving Online?
Many of our parishioners find it very convenient to process their giving and monetary contributions online. These donations go a long way to help the people at St. Stephen Parish serve our community.
